Sierra Medical Services Alliance is a 501c3, not-for-profit corporation formed in 2001. Those services currently include, but are not limited to, Med-Express Transport wheel chair services, Lassen County California ground ambulance services, Riggs Ambulance Service, Merced, CA, Westside Ambulance Service, Newman, CA., Escalon Ambulance Service, Escalon, CA and various consulting contracts.
Wheelchair Transportation
SEMSA's MedExpress Transport is a non-emergency wheelchair transport service specializing in customer care and comfort. Patients of Med-Express Transport use the service for trips to and from their doctor's office, diagnostic testing centers, outpatient clinics, hospitals or nursing homes. Long distance transports can be arranged to almost anywhere on the West Coast.
MedExpress currently serves Washoe County and Carson City, Nevada and soon to serve Lassen County, California.
EMS Advanced Education
The International Center for Prehospital & Disaster Medicine (ICPDM), a service of SEMSA (Sierra Medical Services Alliance), was established to provide education and training experiences to the widest audience possible from the health care professions. Such experiences are offered in a traditional classroom environment and through modes of distance learning that allows students in rural, frontier, and international areas equal access whenever possible.

EMS Management
SEMSA owns the following services:
Riggs Ambulance Service in Merced, CA. Riggs is an Advanced Life Support and Critical Care Transport service in Central California. Covering over 2,000 square miles as a stand-alone service, Riggs offers CCT via ground and air in a performance based contract with Merced County EMS Agency.
Lassen Ambulance Service, Lassen, CA. Lassen Ambulance is solely owned by SEMSA and operates an Advanced Life Support service for the entire county.
SEMSA also provides complete management services for:
Westside Ambulance Service, Newman, CA. Westside Ambulance Service is operated by SEMSA under a management contract with the Westside Ambulance Board of Directors.
Escalon Ambulance Service, Escalon, CA. SEMSA operates Escalon Commuity Ambulance under a management contract approved by the ECA Board of Directors and San Joaquin County EMSA.
